New Parking Structure #2
Client: International Parking Design
This Design–Build project involved the conversion of a surface parking lot to multi-level 1,700 space
parking structure. To accommodate the new structure, access road realignment was required.
Reconstruction of a portion of the surface parking lot surrounding the new parking structure was also
included. New sewer and fire water service facilities were constructed to provide for the future
development of the adjacent site such that the parking lot would not have to be reconstructed at that
time. Additionally, the project involved storm drain relocations, construction of new pavement sections
and parking islands, compliance with ADA access requirements, and completion of a Stormwater
Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).
Widening of the adjacent City street (Dorothy Lane) was also required to accommodate a right turn lane into the University. A City traffic
signal was also modified and upgraded to accommodate the street widening.
